Day
one begins with classic efforts to spot and
stalk boss mulie bucks within
this rugged northeastern Montana terrain. And
as Kristeen takes you along, after finding a
good buck to go after, I’ll share our philosophy
for this unique, family-designed hunt.
I won’t even think about
my own chance until Kristeen has the opportunity
to squeeze
the trigger first. Meanwhile, I’ll be happily
doing the “daddy-daycare” thing--
lagging behind, watching with Karlee, teaching
her about the things she sees and generally helping
her to absorb everything involved.
Not your typical family vacation I know, but
could there possibly be a better way to introduce
a youngster to such a meaningful family tradition?
Then, I’m lucky
enough to spot the buck I think kristeen is
hoping for. So off they go,
with the two of us watching and cheering them
on.
Oh no! A miss like that is
heart wrenching! Would anyone who’s never
missed please raise your hand? I didn’t
think so and you didn’t see mine going
up either now did you?
Thankfully, it was a clean
miss. So this weeks on “Outdoor Secrets”…with
her slate wiped clean…should the mule
deer gods smile down upon her favorably by
granting another chance… how cool will
Kristeen react?
