| When
you are fishing a weed line pattern for largemouth
with a Rat-L-Trap, you never know the suprises
you may recieve, this one happens to be a smallie
that BWP Pro Staffer Mike Finé is holding. |
The first rule in bass fishing, as any seasoned
angler knows, is that there are no rules when
it comes to where these incredibly sporting gamefish
can be found at any given season of the year.
Summer can be one of the most confusing times
to narrow them down because one can literally
catch them extremely shallow, deep or anywhere
in-between.The one thing i do know is the key
is never getting caught in a rut and doing ones
best to predict the highest percentage locations
largemouth will be while continually searching
until you find the kind of action you’re
looking for.
Summertime shallows are a good example,
even though many will tell you to hang up your
gear until warm water temperatures relax their
grip on your favorite
body of water. And today mike fine’ of my staff will be demonstrating an
extremely effective pattern anyone can use to target shallow summertime bass.
Then later, we all know bass relate to about
any type of cover imaginable. Weeds, rocks, logs,
and brush to name a few. But mike weinkauf and
brad alcock of my staff will show us another
great spot that bass really like to hang out
in shallow water… docks!
Now wouldn’t it be great if dock fishing
was so simple to picking out any dock… pitching
a jig nice and close and having a big ol’ bucketmouth
smack it? Well, for now, let’s just say
it’s not that simple.Mike and brad will
show us why some docks are productive while others
are not, where to fish when you find the right
ones, and which lures and strategies are most
effective.
On today’s episode of good fishing, members
of my staff will share a few of their summertime
tactics for catching big bucketmouths in the
shallows. So just ahead, trusty old standby lures
such as the Rat-L-Traps and their effectiveness
in shallow weeds, along with where to pitch,
which type of lures while targeting only the
most productive docks on the lake.
