| Chevy
Sweepstakes winner Kyle Swisher and his first
Arctic Grayling caught in July of 2004. |
The first timeI visited Kasba Lake Lodge, which
is located in the Northwest Territories, I learned
that this is a place where memories are made.
That’s why it was such a no-brainer to
bring Kyle Swisher, our Chevy Trucks Sweepstakes
winner, along with me to this incredible fishing
mecca.
It is a trip of many firsts for this man
from Kansas. Oh sure, Kyle has caught his share
of
bass and even a few small pike back in his
younger days, but none of his experiences even
remotely
compare to this.
Kyle isn’t the only one having the time
of his life. I mean who wouldn’t consider
catching monster pike, huge arctic grayling,
and big lake trout, all at one destination, a
total blast?
There’s only one way in… by charter
plane. Kasba lake is located just 430 miles south
of the Arctic Circle and 150 miles from the nearest
road. Canada’s 28th largest lake, Kasba
spans 55x25 miles, there’s hundreds of
islands and reefs, numerous rivers and streams… and
a forage base to support many species of game
fish.
And one of the best things about Kasba
Lake… it’s exclusively fished by
Kasba Lake Lodge guests. Thanks to mother nature
and Kasba Lake Lodge owner Doug Hill’s
long-time catch and release policy, some of the
biggest fish in Canada are caught here. And while
big fish are usually the target, the ultimate
goal of every angler in northern Canada is the
triple trophy. Consisting of one pike 38” and
over, one arctic grayling 2 lbs plus, and a lake
trout 18 lbs or better, the triple trophy is
possible from only a handful of lakes and Kasba
is certainly one of them. So on this weeks "Good Fishing returns," I’ll
tell you all about our "Dream Trip" to
one of the most pristine environments on God’s
great Earth. A place where ourChevy Trucks Sweepstakes
winner enjoyed a terrific lodge with first class
accommodations… a lake with an abundance
of fish… and a chance at a triple trophy.
We’re talkin’ memories that will
last a lifetime that you won’t want to
miss it.
