A
lot of people love the
taste
of walleye but often
times they forget that
northern can be just
as delicious. I’m
going to show you a way
to prepare northern that
I just know you’ll
love.
I start
by squeezing the juice
out of an orange
and then add the juice
to a cup and a half
of maple syrup. Make
sure
you keep the orange
peels for later. Pour
this
mixture into a shallow
pan, then place 2 to
4 northern filets on
top of it. You can
also combine these into
a
big ziploc bag if you
want. Let this marinade
for about a half hour.
Then take your orange
peels and cup them
into slivers.
Next
thing I do is spray
some aluminum foil
with some
cooking spray. This
will make sure the
syrup and
the walleye don’t
stick to it. I place
the filets and the
extra sauce on top
of the
foil.
I just
add about a quarter cup
of crushed walnuts
and the orange peel slivers
over the top, fold the
foil tightly and place
it on the grill, cooking
it until the fish flakes.
This will take about
10-12 minutes.
Open
up my foil and it’s
ready to serve.
