The lodge sits
on a 2,000 acre working farm and
ranch located at Burke, South Dakota.
Corn, sorghum, millet, and prairie
combined with annually planted food
plots, provides top-notch pheasant
habitat.
Oakley is an
old time South Dakota rancher and
outfitter. I've been with him every
year for the past 4 years and I'll
go back down again this year.
It is an ideal
place fpor archery turkey hunts.
There are a large number of birds
and they are very active in the
breeding process. Mike Weinkauf
of my staff shot a huge merriam
in the spring of 2002 that weighed
26 1/2 pounds with a beard of 10
1/2 inches long.
The pheasant
hunting is superb and Oakley continuosly
is planting more birds to help
out the native populations.
Seasons: Spring,
Fall & Winter
