Trophy whitetail deer!
This
is a unique trophy
deer area that is situated
between Lake of the
Woods
and
Rainy River. With
mixed agriculture,
timber, extensive food
plots,
and a season
that coincides
with pre-rut and rut,
this area has everything
that Western Canada
has to
offer. Due to light
hunting pressure these
whitetails
live
to be trophy age
(5-7 years old) and
become huge bodied
with large
racks.
The only way a
buck can become a Booner
is living to maturity
in an area that provides
great cover, lots of
feed, and light hunting
pressure. The Rainy River
district
has it all! Last year
we had 24 rifle hunters
over the three hunts.
19 shot bucks of which
7 scored over 150 B&C.
The heaviest deer killed
weighed 383.75lbs.
Bear
Baiting
We set up tree stands
around bait piles for
either the rifle or
bow hunter. We use
a variety of bait to
bring in bears.
By
replenishing the baits
daily we ensure that
you will be successful
in your
hunt. We will only
put you in a frequently
visited bait pile to
ensure
you the most successful
hunt
as possible.
It
is very common to see
multiple
bears
in every sitting.
We do
have some huge bears
that love our "candy" that
we feed them. Bring
your camera because
you could have some
outstanding
photo
opportunities with
a mom and cubs. Our
bear hunting area encompasses
nearly
a 1,000 square kilometers.
We basically hunt
a new area each year,
repeating
the pattern every
four years. We spread
60 baits over 260 road
kilometers
to
ensure a wide area
of coverage and to
prevent baiting the
same
bears into multiple
baits. Our hunters
the past 2 years have
all
had opportunities
to harvest
multiple bears.
Last
year, an archery
hunter
harvested
a bear that had
a skull green score
measurement of
23
inches and
an estimated
weight of 730 pounds.
Our new lodge,
completed in 2001,
has 6 bedrooms
that accommodate
2 people per room.
Three bathrooms
are equipped with
sinks, toilets,
tubs and showers. Telephone,
satellite t.v.
and
excellent meals
served family style
in a clean and
spacious kitchen. All
meals
are provided and
the food
is fantastic. The
menu can be changed
to
accommodate special
needs. Price:
Bear (6 day) $1500
Deer Rifle (6 day)
$2500
Deer Archery (6
day) $1800
Grouse (3-5 days)
$900-$1200
All
the elements of a Saskatchewan
deer hunt, but it is
a thousand miles closer
and much cheaper. Hunt
giant Canadian whitetails
on private ground and
be comfortable while
you are doing it. These
folks know whitetails
and will do what it
takes to make your
hunt a success.
