The archery
elk season runs from September
1 to September 30. This is
the majestic bugle season.
Archery elk hunts are true
wilderness experiences and
not for the half-hearted hunter.
November
1-30 is the late elk season.
This is when the big bulls
migrate out of the high fall
range and out of Yellowstone
National Park down to the winter
range. It is not uncommon to
see herds of 100-200 elk. General
rifle elk season runs October
1-21. An 8 day hunt with one
hunter per guide is the rule.
They take 5-6 hunters per hunt,
depending on the drawing. Hunting
will vary from calling in bulls,
to glassing and stalking, to
still hunting through timber.
They run
5 day cow elk hunts during
the month of November. Cow
tags are easy to get and hunters
always fill. If you are hunting
for meat, this is the hunt
for you. The hunts start on
Monday and end on Friday. We
are very flexible on the dates
of this hunt.
They hunt
Black Bears in the Bighorn
Mountains of Wyoming. Bear
season runs May 1 - June 15.
Only 6 bear hunters hunt a
year. This insures a high success
rate on harvesting big bears.
Success runs about 100% in
seeing one or more bears.
Moose season
runs September 1 to November
15. You will hunt moose from
the base elk camp, located
in moose area 31. You will
be hunting the Wyoming or Shiras
Moose. Moose may be taken with
a gun or bow. The chance for
a record book bull taken with
a bow is very good.
The sheep
season runs August 15-October
20. You will hunt sheep in
areas 1-5, mainly hunting area
4. Sheep are hunted out of
the base camp or in spike camp.
They only take a few sheep
hunters a year. The success
rate on our hunters harvesting
a mature ram is nearly 100%.
Sheep hunting is a physically
demanding hunt. This requires
our hunters to be in top shape.
Seasons:
Fall, Winter, Spring.
