Fish the Arctic

Well above the arctic circle, the water is very cold and relatively shallow, which makes for vastly different fishing than waters farther south. Gigantic lake trout, pike and graying swim in these waters with a best pike fishing on this monstrous Canadian lake happening at this lodge. You can also take a trip to the amazing Tree River to fish for Arctic Char. This is a great spot to see the actual history of the arctic and catch some world class char.

If you go to Great Bear Lodge, make sure that you book a fly out to this excellent arctic char fishery. The history is still happening as arctic char are still used as currency in this far north area. My wife and I caught hundreds of the beautiful creatures on our fly-out adventure. This is not only a good fishery, but a wonderful area to explore with all of the history that is still visible to this day.
