Let's Go Fishing!

Whether your passion is a Trophy Northern or Muskie, a panful of sizzling Walleyes for shore lunch, or to catch so many Smallmouth Bass in one day that your reel threatens to overheat, you can find what you want in a vacation at one of our camps.

You Are Now Entering Canada's First "Trophy Waters" Conservation Region. For the first time in history, a wilderness area in Northwestern Ontario has been designated as a “Trophy Waters” conservation region. It is often difficult for American anglers to differentiate between the hundreds of lodges in Canada. The vast array of brochures and videos gives the impression that every fishing resort in Canada boasts enormous numbers of trophy fish. This sadly is not always true, managing a fishery is a complicated process. To do it properly, you must have a remote waterway that is utilized by a small group of highly motivated individuals.

The Trophy Waters region of Ontario is so special and so rich in trophy fish that it simply must be preserved for future generations. The Halley's, along with a number of their fellow lodge operators, have therefore teamed up with the Government of Ontario to create an all-time first – a vast wilderness region that is now entirely conservation fishing. Like the coral reefs of Costa Rica or the plains of the Serengeti, the Trophy Waters of Ontario will now be preserved for future generations. When shopping for your Canadian fishing vacation, keep an eye out for “Trophy Waters”. It’s your guarantee of a quality fishing experience.

Babe's Comments:

A couple years ago we fulfilled the fishing portion of our Chevy Truck sweepstakes at this destination. The first day of fishing, my guest, the guide and I had boated 116 walleyes by 3:15 pm when we ran out of bait!!!! The walleye fishing is usually fast and furious on this sprawling body of water, and they catch numerous walleyes in the 10lbs and larger range every year. The lake also offers some good fishing for Northern Pike with fish up to 25lbs.

This destination is unique in the fact that you can either bring your own boats and run to the lodge by water or fly in on floatplanes and use their boats. You can fish either guided or unguided. All the accommodations were very nice, the food great and the staff very qualified.

They also offer several different types of outpost camps for Smallmouth Bass, walleyes, Lake Trout and big Pike.... a plethora of options at very reasonable prices. I think so much of this destination that I’m going back there to film again this year!
