Fish Manitoba's
Gods Lake. Your arms will feel tired
and weary after hours and hours of
fighting big fish. It's the kind
of weariness that you've come so
far and waited so long to experience!
This lodge sits
on the south end of this magnificent
body of water, right in the middle
of some of Manitoba's finest walleye
fishing. It's no secret that this
end of the lake harbors some of the
best overall angling in this part
of the province.
Guests return to
the dock with amazing stories of
powerful, oversized, stubborn lake
trout that tried to wrestle their
rods and reels from their hands.
This massive
lake lived up to my expectations.
The walleye fishing was just wonderful.
My guest Mike Martin and I had
one of the most memorable mornings
of walleye fishing that I can remember.
We caught trophy walleyes by Manitoba
standards (28" or greater)
and caught at least 2 dozen that
went 27". The average fish
was incredible.
The brook trout fly-out to the Gods River was a great experience
as well. I landed 11 brook trout that were classified as trophies
(20" or larger), my largest being 23 1/2". Mike landed
the big one of the trip, a eye popping 24" that will forever
live in his memory.
The guides
are wonderful and the shore lunch
is superb. The lodge is wonderful
and the cabins are up to date and
modern.
Seasons: June -
September
